On Saturday, October 12, from 12:00 to 13:00 Athens time, the show “Our Town” will host Giorgos Markopoulos.
The award-winning poet and writer of the ’70s generation, guest in the studio of ERA, will read his poems and talk about the important poets he loved, many of whom he had a warm friendship with, such as: Seferis, Elytis, Anagnostakis, Hatzidakis, Theodorakis, Katsaros, M. Eleftheriou, Gorbias, as well as younger poets for whom he wrote significant texts, generously promoting Greek poetry to the next generations.
The guest will share his experiences and remember the time he worked at the Third Program and will talk about his neighborhood, Victorias Square, and the rich impressions he gained from it.
He will mention his love for football as well as for the left as a philosophy, for this world of faith and ideas that “nurtured his youth.” He will also speak about his beloved “Thourios,” the youth newspaper of the “Internal,” where he had the fortune to write “perhaps the most fruitful texts about Greek poets.”
