The renowned oud player and composer Alekos Vretos and his quartet will perform this Friday, November 29, at 10:00 PM (Athens time) from Studio B of ERT’s Music Ensembles, as part of the “Greek Jazz Players” series, hosted by Pantazis Tsaras every last Friday of the month,
The quartet features:
- Alekos Vretos on the oud,
- Dimitris Verdinoglou on piano,
- Giannis Diskos on clarinet,
- Lambros Papanikolaou on double bass.
Listeners will enjoy compositions by Vretos and Verdinoglou inspired by Mediterranean traditions, along with Eastern and Western sounds. Through a jazz perspective, familiar and unfamiliar melodies blend into a unique musical style. The program also includes new and past works from the quartet’s repertoire as well as selections from the international jazz scene, offering an exploratory and delightful musical journey.
