On Friday, May 31, 2024, at 22:00 (Athens time) Pantazis Tsaras’ show “The Greek Jazz Players on Voice of Greece” makes a tribute to the French composer, conductor and pianist Michel Legrand, 5 years after his passing, with the help of three important musicians who will perform from ERA’s Studio B: Vangelis Kokkoris on flute, Paris Gagastathis on piano and Alexandros Trampas on double bass
Legrand’s inexhaustible talent has left its mark on film music (Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Summer of ’42), just as his collaborations with great singers have left indelible traces (Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Kiri de Kanawa). His multifaceted musical personality marks the French musical horizon, and his deep love for jazz makes him a virtuoso of the genre and connects him with names such as Herbie Mann, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane, both in Europe and America.
