On Friday 28 June 2024 at 22:00 Athens time, Pantazis Tsaras hosts “Seeds” – the new duo of Mihalis and Christos Kalkanis, who have already appeared at Jazzahead! festival in Bremen, Aglan Jazz Fest in Cyprus, and the Athens City Festival.
The two brothers join forces creating a new, dynamic soundscapewhere the acoustic timbres of the double bass, clarinet and piano coexist with electronic sounds, creating images that sometimes refer to soundtracks and the neoclassical scene and sometimes remind of Greece and our traditional music.
The Kalkanis brothers, raised in a house full of musical instruments with sounds of classical and traditional Greek music, developed this deep sense of connection that gives coherence and strength to their intimate and atmospheric compositions. In the show they record four unreleased ncompositions that will be included in their first album that will be out soon.
