The program featured a phone interview with Mr. Panos Drosinakis, President of the Federation of Greek Communities in Germany, calling from Hamburg. The discussion was prompted by the 23rd conference of the Federation of Greek Communities in Germany (OEK), held in Porz, Cologne, with participation from numerous communities.
Mr. Drosinakis noted that over the past two decades, there had been a decline in activity, and one of their immediate goals is to engage the younger generation. During the conference, issues such as Greek-language education, which concerns all communities in Germany, were addressed. Additionally, a resolution was passed advocating for the reactivation of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) and the reestablishment of Citizen Service Centers for expatriates.
Mr. Drosinakis also emphasized that a key demand of the OEK is for Greeks abroad to be able to vote by mail in national elections.
