On Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 12:00 (Athens time), the program “Imprint” with Fuli Zavitsanou welcomes journalist and author Giannis Pantelakis, on the occasion of the Spanish-language release of his book Los buenos antifascistas: The Story of the Greek Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War through the Unknown Archives of the International Brigades, published by the Asociación de Amigos de las Brigadas Internacionales (Association of Friends of the International Brigades).
Originally published in Greek by Themelio Editions, the book recounts the gripping and little-known story of Greek and Cypriot volunteers who traveled to a foreign land to fight fascism—braving danger and often sacrificing their very lives in the process.
Giannis Pantelakis speaks to us about this remarkable act of solidarity and the special bond that this history has forged between Greece and Spain—a bond that has been rekindled and brought back into the spotlight with the release of his book in Spanish.
