On Saturday, 30 August 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00 (Athens time), Voice of Greece’s program “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis will host Betty Harlafti. The distinguished interpreter of Mikis Theodorakis will speak about the grand concert for world peace, in which she is participating as a guest of the renowned composer Zülfü Livaneli, in Miletus (Asia Minor).
She will share insights into her special relationship with Theodorakis—how he chose her to perform his works both in Greece and abroad, the advice he gave her, her memorable experiences with him during rehearsals, and the valuable insights she gained from their conversations.
Betty Harlafti will also talk about her album “Betty Harlafti in the World of Mikis Theodorakis,” born from her long-standing collaboration with the composer and recorded with the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra. This project places her among the few performers with a personal discography produced in partnership with a symphony orchestra. The album, dedicated to world peace, features notable contributions from Zülfü Livaneli and Maria Farantouri.
