On Saturday, 23 May 2026, at 22:00 Athens time, the program “Greek Jazz Players” with Pantazis Tsaras presents the Greek entries participating in the 25th Athens Jazz festival at Technopolis.
Guests on the program include renowned composer, pianist, and improviser Stavros Lantsias, who appears with his quartet in the acclaimed production “My Ennio Morricone”, presented as a tribute to Giorgos Haronitis — a key collaborator of the Technopolis Jazz Festival and a man who shared a special connection with the work of the great Italian composer.
The program also welcomes saxophonist, composer, and improviser Giannis Kasetas, a member of the distinctive ensemble Greek Cooking Band. The group was formed especially for this year’s anniversary edition of the festival, aiming to connect the American jazz tradition with authentic Greek folk roots. In this way, Greek jazz continues to evolve through dialogue with the past while remaining open, daring, and contemporary.
