On Saturday, 7 November 2026, at 12:00 Athens time, Voice of Greece’s “Our Town” welcomes author Nektaria Anastasiadou and historian and professor Alexander Kitroeff for a discussion about Mediterranean cities, their history and literature, and their periods of prosperity and decline.
The two guests will explore cosmopolitanism and the conditions that sustain it: peace, respect for diversity, and the cohesion of a society moving forward. The discussion takes its starting point from Nektaria Anastasiadou’s novel “Rotten Lemons,” which has drawn public interest and received highly positive reviews, exploring questions of origins, diversity, and fanaticism.
Alexander Kitroeff will discuss Messina and Alexandria as characteristic examples of Mediterranean culture. Nektaria Anastasiadou will briefly introduce her three novels and read excerpts from “Rotten Lemons.”
