Dr. Nikolaos Liapis, President of the Hellenic Institute of Maritime Technology (ELINT) and board member of the Hellenic Shortsea Shipowners Association (EENMA), will be the guest on Antonis Karagiannakis’ show Fair Winds and Following Seas– Saturday Shift on Voice of Greece on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 08:00 Athens time (with a repeat broadcast at 20:00).

Among other topics, Dr. Liapis will discuss the sea—“a great love for us Greeks, with all its ease and challenges, as all great loves are.” He will also talk about his passion for the shipping industry, which he describes as “a demanding field, but one of great interest due to its constant evolution and promising prospects.”

Dr. Liapis will highlight the role of ELINT as “the bridge between the academic community and the maritime industry, aiming to advance and promote maritime technology, particularly in Greece.” He will also address Shipping 4.0, the maritime revolution driven by two key factors—decarbonization and digitalization—ushering the industry into the digital era.
