Festivals of Ikaria (Part I) | 21 Sept. 2024, 10:00

What makes the greek ‘panigiri’ (local festivals) so special? Inspired by festivals of Ikaria, the quintessential summer “must” for free spirits and not just them, we seek to understand the “past” in relation to the “present” of tradition. On Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. (Athens time), together with Ikariot educator Vasilis Karnavas and ethnomusicologist Paraskevi (Vivi) Kanellatou, we explore how their contemporary practice promotes cultural communication and expression among us.
