In Nisyros with Alexandros Giannios | 24 Aug. 2024, 13:00

One of the most beautiful and authentic festivals in the Dodecanese takes place every year on August 22-23 at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Kyra in Nisyros, celebrating the nine days after the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.

This Saturday’s “Historical Walks” will feature Alexandros Giannios, a musician, filmmaker, and guide with roots in Nisyros, who will immerse us in the rituals of this deeply communal celebration and transport us with his authentic and rare musical recordings to this magical island.
