New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day highlights on “Voice of Greece”

New Year’s Eve – Tuesday, December 31

At 9 PM (Athens time), listeners of Voice of Greece are invited to enter “The Constellation of Tolis”. This special two-hour festive music program features unforgettable songs performed or written by Tolis Voskopoulos. The performances by Vassilis Lekkas and Ioanna Emmanouil, accompanied by exceptional musicians, will lead us into the New Year. Produced and presented by Themis Rodamitis

New Year’s Day – Wednesday, January 1, 2025

  • 8:00 AM (Athens time): Antonis Karagiannakis embarks on a journey across the world’s seas, meeting active and retired sailors who share memories of New Year celebrations onboard.
  • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Prokopis Agelopoulos connects live with members of the Greek diaspora in a two-hour program, exploring how the New Year unfolds for Greeks in various parts of the world.
  • 3:00 PM: A two-hour live broadcast celebrates Greek traditions with carols, folklore customs, and festive songs. Produced and presented by Maria Koutsimpiri
  • 5:00 PM: Giannis Papoutsakis delves into the story of Saint Basil and the tradition of the New Year’s pie in a two-hour live show, enriched with Greek and international songs celebrating the year’s first day.
  • 9:00 PM: AriadnI-Sofia Kouri embarks on a unique global journey, connecting with Greeks from Seoul to Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Qatar, Lebanon, Beijing, Melbourne, Morocco, Madagascar, and Vienna.

The day concludes with a spectacular concert featuring the distinctive Chainides, marking a memorable start to 2025!
