On Sunday, January 7th, at 12:00 – 13:00 Athens time,, the show “Our Town” presented by Themis Rodamitis pays tribute to poet Dylan Thomas.
The show will try to cast light on some aspects of this great poetic personality. We will listen to special recordings, texts and songs.
George Blanas, poet and Dylan Thomas’ translator, will speak about him; and actress Evdokia Statiri will narrate the poet’s famous work “Under Milk Wood” in a radio performance. Director Nikos Armaos will discuss the historic play “Under Milk Wood” that he directed in the early 70s and for which he received critical acclaim. We will listen to songs written for the play by the composer Iraklis Paschalidis and performed by well-known actors. Poems will be read by actors Akyllas Karazisis and Panos Boras. The show will feature the voices of Dylan Thomas and Iggy Pop as well as songs in the mood of the tribute.
The following hour, 13:00 -14:00, we will listen to “a song for Giannis“. It is a celebration for Giannis name day, with music, wishes and festive mood.
