Population movements, 1900-1951: the world and Thrace | Friday 20.10.2023, 20.00

On Friday, October 20th, the show “Our Town” will present the topic “Population movements, 1900-1951: the world and Thrace“.

This special program will focus on the conference co-organized by the Hellenic Parliamentary Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy, the Municipality of Alexandroupoli, the Ethnological Museum of Thrace (in cooperation with the P2 Institute) and the Foundation of Thracian Art and Tradition.

The conference will analyze the major population movements around the world from the beginning of the century until the signing of the UN Refugee Convention in 1951.

Key references to this special conference will be made by Professors Angelos Syrigos and Konstantinos Filis (President of the Foundation of Thracian Art and Tradition), Evanthis Chatzivasileiou (Secretary General of the Foundation of the Hellenic Parliament), Angeliki Giannakidou (President of the Ethnological Museum of Thrace) and Panagiotis Kalantzis (Head of the Action Group, P2 Progress in Practice Institute).

The conference will feature exhibitions, screenings, etc.

The show will feature traditional songs.
