No one captured the pain and longing of exile like Kazantzidis during the early post-war years. His voice became a lifeline for immigrants in Central Europe and America, a presence that comforted and connected them to home for decades.
ERT journalist Thomas Sideris presents a heartfelt two-hour episode featuring Kazantzidis’s most moving songs about exile. The program also includes powerful stories from Greek immigrants in Belgium and Germany, snippets from Greek radio broadcasts abroad, and emotional letters sent by immigrants in Germany to their families back home.
