“Stuttgart and the Greek Revolution of 1821” | 30 Apr. 2025, 12:00

On Wednesday, April 30th at 12:00 PM Athens time, the radio program “Faraway Words” sets its course for Germany.

The featured guest is Mr. Kostas Kachrimanidis, president of Omogenia Germanias e.V., the Federation of the Greek Diaspora in Germany. He will speak about the upcoming parade to be held in Stuttgart on Saturday, May 3rd, commemorating the anniversary of the Greek War of Independence of 1821. Mr. Kachrimanidis will also discuss the exhibition “Im Namen der Freiheit – Stuttgart und die Griechische Revolution von 1821″ (In the Name of Freedom – Stuttgart and the Greek Revolution of 1821), which opens on May 2nd at StadtPalais, the city’s historical museum.

Also joining the conversation is Eleni Winckel Moraitou, a member of the International Ravensbrück Committee (IRK-CIR) representing the Greek Embassy in Berlin. She will shed light on the commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Ravensbrück concentration camp.
