Thodoris Gkonis visits “Our Town” | 04 Aug. 2024, 12:00

On Sunday, August 4, from 12:00 to 14:00 Athens time, the show “Our Town” will feature Thodoris Gkonis. The lyricist, director, and festival artistic director will discuss his hometown, Nafplio, and the exciting events he is organizing there this summer. These events will highlight local and thematic cultural elements, opening a new chapter for the city. The works of Solomos, Cavafy, Seferis, Karouzos, and Karkavitsas will come to life through the narration of prominent actors. Additionally, a special segment will feature Pantelis Boukalas’ text on the assassination of Kapodistrias.

Thodoris Gkonis will also talk about his collaborations with composers, his extensive discography, the literary texts he loves from both Greek and international literature, and his dedication and passion for theater and acting. He will also discuss radio, his favorite cities, the art of play and storytelling, and the poetic aspects of life.

The show will include many of his popular songs that have captured the public’s heart.
