Tribute to Franz Kafka Part II | 04 Jan. 2025, 12:00

On Saturday, January 4th, from 12:00 to 13:00, the show “Our Town” will present the second part of the tribute to the author Franz Kafka.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of the Czech writer, the show will explore various aspects of his literary journey, significant milestones in his life, and will highlight the lasting impact of this prominent figure in literature.

In the studio, the director of the Czech Center in Athens, Lucia Kuligova, will discuss Kafka’s contribution to literature and the significant rise of Prague, the city where he lived. References will also be made to the many events held in honor of Kafka.

Actors Arietta Moutousi and Stelios Mainas will read texts.

Czech composers will be performed by musicians Sophia Mavrogenidou (flute) and Barbara Maria Willi (organ). The children’s choir of the Modern Conservatory of Arts in Athens will perform Czech carols.

The show will also pay tribute to the great Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his birth.
