Voice of Greece celebrates the centenary of the birth of Maria Callas

On the occasion of the Maria Callas Year, “Voice of Greece” collaborated throughout the year with Greek Diaspora organizations abroad, contributing and participating in the tributes they have prepared and continue to prepare.
A typical example is the tribute-event to the great Greek woman, organized on Friday, December 1, by the Hellenic Museum of Melbourne, in the heart of Australia.

Meanwhile, the program is enriched with special tribute shows. Specifically, on Saturday, December 2, soprano Sonia Theodoridou will be invited to the show “Invitation to Lunch” (13:00 – 14:00 Greek time) with Eleni Karali, to talk about the diva of the opera, on the occasion of her participation in the concert – tribute: “MARIA CALLAS: In Memoriam” to be held at the Cairo Opera House on Monday, December 4.
Eleni Karali continues her tribute to Maria Callas on Saturday, December 9, with special mention of the four events organized by the Consulate of Greece in New York in collaboration with Greek Diaspora associations, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Callas.

Finally, on Sunday, December 3, on the show “Our Town” (12:00 – 14:00 Greek time), Themis Rodamitis has prepared a two-hour tribute to the great soprano, with special recordings from her artistic career as well as her personal life. Musicologist Alexandros Charkiolakis, collector Dimitris Pyromallis, and poet and author Giorgos Chronas will also speak on the show.
