On Saturday, 28 June 2025, at 18:00 (Athens time), Voice of Greece presents a special edition of the program “My Wandering Heart” paying tribute to the International Day of the Seafarer with a carefully curated musical journey by Anna Prokova.
Established by the International Maritime Organization, this day—celebrated annually on 25 June—honors the invaluable contribution of seafarers around the world. Inspired by the occasion, Anna Prokova selects songs that speak of the sea, voyages to distant lands, the longing to return, and the and the unique allure of life at sea.
The program features a wide range of music, from cherished and rare tunes in the rebetiko tradition and narrative ballads, to musical settings of poetry by Nikos Kavvadias and Miltos Sachtouris.
This radio special is dedicated to Greek seafarers who keep maritime tradition alive, and to all who love the sea and the music it inspires.
