How did time pass in the monasteries? What did emperors wear? What did craftsmen create in their workshops, and what did housewives buy in the bustling marketplaces? Three… flying friends—Vagia, Asteris, and Gary—invite you on a wonderful journey through Byzantine times, to explore these questions and many more together!

The program “Narratives – Stories and Fairy Tales for All Ages” presents, on Saturday, 27 December 2025, from 17:00 to 18:00 (Athens time), on Voice of Greece, the narrated edition of e Kedros Publishing book “A Walk Through Byzantine Times.” The book is written by the award-winning author Evi Tsitiridou–Christoforidou (Greek Children’s Book Circle, Women’s Literary Society, and Estia of Nea Smyrni), and features outstanding illustrations by the talented creator Lela Stroutsi.

Part of the “With History as Your Guide” series, the book takes listeners on a vivid journey to the medieval era and into the everyday life of the Byzantines.

The book is accompanied by educational activities for children, structured as individual worksheets, combining knowledge-building, entertainment, and creative expression in an engaging way—drawing young audiences into an imaginative exploration of daily life in Byzantine times.

Children, hold on tight to the back of the magical little donkey Gary, along with his young friends Vagia and Asteris! We are about to take off—magically traveling back in time… to the age of Byzantium!
