On Tuesday, 29 July 2025, at 22:00 (Athens time), “Human Landscapes” with Victoria Kavouriari explores the story of basketball coach Eleni Kapogianni.
Born and raised in Nea Ionia, always running and dribbling since childhood, Eleni Kapogianni went on to win six Greek Championships and five Cups. She made 16 appearances with the Greek National Team and earned third place in the former European Champions Cup with Sporting.
As a coach, she has led teams such as Vrilissia, Exarchia, Sporting, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, and Panionios. Since 2018, her international career has taken her to women’s clubs in Lebanon and northern China, near Mongolia. Most recently, she coached the Iranian Women’s National Team.
In June, she returned safely to Athens from Iran—just hours before Israeli airstrikes began in Tehran.
