At a time when reality seems to be overturning everything we once held as certain—everything on which the post–World War II world was built—we turn to History. Taking a film as our point of departure, we revisit the life and legacy of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Governor of the newly established Greek state.
On Tuesday, 27 January, the Voice of Greece program “Human Landscapes ” welcomes actor Antonis Miriagos and follows him on a journey from Chios and Montreal, from Korydallos and Chalandri, to Kosovo, Mexico, Russia, Japan, and China. From the texts of the great tragic poets and the Greek language, to his interpretation of the personality and work of Kapodistrias; from the snowy landscapes of Romania to the settings of Corfu, Nafplio, and Aegina—onward to the next role.
We speak about selflessness and faith, service and values, about fiction and critical perspective. About what it means to serve the art of acting for more than twenty years—and how a single role, one month of screenings, and more than half a million tickets so far can be enough to bring wide public recognition.
