Giorgos Zacharopoulos is the “Poet of the Week” | 02–08 Feb. 2026

Seven poems each week—one Greek poem every day—travel through the airwaves of Voice of Greece to the farthest corners of the world where Greek voices are heard.
The week from 02 February 2026 to 08 February 2026 is dedicated to poet Giorgos Zacharopoulos.


Giorgos Ch. Zacharopoulos was born in Athens in 1981. He works as a bookseller and, alongside this, paints and writes. His first poetry collection, Field of Blood, was published by Mov Squirrel Editions and received the 2025 Debut Poet Award from the magazine O Anagnostis.

Voice of Greece, ERT’s international radio addressed to Greeks around the world, continues its series of podcasts— “Poet of the Week” — dedicated to the dissemination, support, and celebration of the Greek language and culture.
