On Wednesday 30 July 2025, at 22:00 Athens time, Dody Tsiantar, journalist and retired Associate Professor at the Columbia University School of Journalism in New York, is the featured guest on Voice of Greece in conversation with Christos Pagonis and Stavroula Karali.
In recent years, the Greek-American journalist has been expressing her deep love for Greece through photography. A red door in Santorini, standing out among the island’s whitewashed houses, became the spark for her first photograph — her first “click.”
Ever since, on every journey to Greece, Ms. Tsiantar seeks out doors to capture. Her photographic series, “Doors,” was recently exhibited in Thessaloniki and had previously been showcased at the Embassy of Greece in Washington, D.C.
For Ms. Tsiantar, each door holds a story of its own. Ornate, colorful, simple, or weathered by time, these doors take on new meaning through her lens. As English poet William Blake once wrote: “There are things that are known and things that are unknown; in between are the doors.”
