“Greek Voices” – Greece in Argentina | 17 May 2026, 10:00

On Sunday 17 May, at 10:00 Athens time, the Voice of Greece program “Greek Voices” – Greece in Argentina with Dr. Christina Tsardikou, president of the Greek Cultural Organization “Nostos,” welcomes Lefteris Liakos from Stefanovouno, Elassona, in the Larissa region.

Three months ago, 26-year-old Lefteris traveled from Greece to Argentina, accompanied by his guide dog Hermes, to fulfill his dream of studying Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires, despite having lost his eyesight.

Having already completed his studies in Psychology in Greece, he is now embarking on a second academic journey, standing as an inspiring example of strength, perseverance, and optimism.

During the interview, he speaks about his life in Greece, the long journey to Argentina, the difficulties and challenges of starting a new life in a foreign country, as well as the importance of equal access to education for people with disabilities.

The story of Lefteris Liakos is a moving message of courage and hope, and a reminder that dreams know no limits when there is determination and human support.
