Ithaca, synonymous with Odysseus, longing for home and the return journey, has passed from mythology into literature and, from there, into our collective imagination as a symbol of the destination—and of the journey itself.
Behind the myth, however, lies a real island: small, lush, peaceful and deeply rooted in the character of the Ionian Islands. With Vathy built around one of Greece’s largest natural harbors, picturesque Kioni, Frikes and Stavros, small coves with turquoise waters, trails, villages and landscapes that seem untouched by time.
