On Saturday, 14 June 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00 Athens time, the program “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis welcomes filmmaker Penny Panayotopoulou, on the occasion of her new feature film, Wishbone.
Panagiotopoulou will introduce us to her distinct directorial vision, sharing insights into the journey of Wishbone—a film that was recently awarded the Best Director Prize at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival.
She will speak about personal time and what she describes as “empty time”—two concepts that shape the trajectory of this evocative film. The conversation will also revisit her earlier critically acclaimed works, Hard Goodbyes: My Father and September, both of which were warmly embraced by critics and audiences alike.
In addition, the director will share some of her favorite music and reflect on her work across television, literature, and photography, as well as the travels and cities that have left a lasting impression on her.
