On Holy Saturday, 11 April 2026, from 12:00 to 13:00 (Athens time), the Voice of Greece program “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis presents an episode titled “Songs and Hymns from East and West.”
Guest in the studio, Fenia Papadodima speaks about the devotional element as expressed across different countries of the Mediterranean. The program features songs that trace the passage of time from as early as the 10th century, including compositions by the poet and composer Reine Blanche of Castile, early Byzantine hymns to the Virgin (Theotokia), as well as works from the broader Mediterranean repertoire, performed by female voices.
The guest will also talk about her work titled “Uccelli del Mare”, inspired by devotional traditions from various countries. Stay tuned!
