On Saturday, 3 October 2026, from 12:00 to 13:00 Athens time, Voice of Greece’s “Our Town,” hosted by Themis Rodamitis, welcomes composer and pianist Stavros Sofianopoulos.
The guest will reflect on key moments in his artistic journey—a career marked by integrity, a love of music, and a distinctive melodic voice. Particular attention will be given to his work “The Flow of the City,” comprising seven songs and five instrumental pieces, and “C. P. Cavafy—A Reading,” which brings together music and recitations of Cavafy’s poetry.
Director Penny Panayotopoulou will also join the program to discuss their collaboration on her film “Hard Goodbyes: My Father,” highlighting the contribution of Sofianopoulos’s score, featuring the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra.
The conversation will also explore music as an art form, how our perception of it changes over time, and broader questions of art and culture.
Produced and presented by Themis Rodamitis
