Seven poems every week — one Greek poem each day — travel through the airwaves of Voice of Greece to the far corners of the earth, wherever Greek voices are heard.
The week of 20 July to 27 July 2025 is dedicated to poet Tasos Lampropoulos.
Tasos Lampropoulos, poet, writer, and thinker, was born in Athens and currently lives in Shanghai, China. He made his debut in Greek literature in 1993 with the poetry collection “Hellenic–Erotic–Reflective Poems” (Mavridis Publications).
In the Delphi Panhellenic Poetry Competition in 1995, he was awarded Second Prize and a silver medal by the Panhellenic Union of Writers for his poem “Alexander”, which was later featured in newspapers, magazines, and poetry anthologies.
His historical novel “The Daughter of the Sun” (Ostria Publications) was selected as part of the Cultural Exchanges for the 50th anniversary of Greece–China diplomatic relations, and was published in Chinese by East China Normal University Press in Shanghai. His latest historical novel, “The Light of Two Worlds – Clearchus of Soli” (Ostria, 2024), which explores the cultures and philosophies of Greece and China, is currently being translated into Chinese and will be published soon.
He frequently delivers lectures at Chinese universities on the Greek spirit, Greek civilization, and symbolic interpretations of Greek mythology. He has been a member of the Society of Greek Writers, the Panhellenic Union of Writers, and the Greece–China Friendship Association for the past 22 years.
