Triantafyllos Kotopoulos is the “Poet of the Week” | 13–19 October 2025

Seven poems every week, one Greek poem each day, travel through the frequencies of Voice of Greece, reaching every corner of the world where Greek voices are heard.

Each week spotlights a contemporary Greek poet, including voices from the Greek diaspora. The poets themselves curate and perform their own work for radio, with each piece set to music by acclaimed composers.

The week of 13–19 October 2025 is dedicated to the poet Triantafyllos Kotopoulos.

Triantafyllos H. Kotopoulos, Professor of Creative Writing and Modern Greek Literature, is the Director and Academic Head of the Postgraduate Program in Creative Writing, the English-language Undergraduate Program “Creative Writing, Arts and Humanities”, and Chair of the Cultural Committee at the University of Western Macedonia.

He also serves as Supervisor of the New High School Curricula for Literature, heads the “Vivliologeion” Laboratory, and directs the online literary journal Lexitanil. He has taught as a Visiting Professor at numerous Greek and international universities.

He is a member of cultural organizations and international research networks, Scientific Director and Chair of international Poetry Festivals, while he especially values his role as a founding member of the Cultural Group of the Panhellenic Association of Paraplegics – Northern Greece Branch.

His academic and research work focuses on the study and teaching of Creative Writing, Modern Greek Literature, and Literary Theory. He has published nine scholarly books, edited collective volumes and monographs, and authored over 200 articles in Greek and international journals, edited volumes, and conference proceedings. As a writer, he has published seven poetry collections, one short story collection, and his lyrics and set-to-music poems have been released on two CDs.
