Tribute to Andreas Embirikos with guest Jacques Bouchard | 06 Sept. 2025, 12:00

On Saturday, 6 September, from 12:00 to 13:00 Athens time, the program “Our Town” on Voice of Greece will present a short tribute to Andreas Embirikos.

One of Greece’s most important poets, prose writers, photographers, and psychoanalysts, and the introducer of surrealism in the country, Embirikos left a lasting mark on Greek poetry and thought with his pioneering and daring voice.

The program will feature guest Jacques Bouchard, a leading scholar of modern Greek literature and professor at the University of Montreal, who will discuss Embirikos’ poetry and his connection to it.

Poems will be read by the poet’s son, historian Leonidas Embirikos.
