On Monday, 15 September 2025, from 22:00 to 23:00 (Athens time), Voice of Greece’s program “Our Town” presents a special tribute to the Greek Film Archive, with guest Maria Komninos, Professor and Chair of the Board.
Maria Komninos will trace the history of the Archive and talk about the crucial work of digitally restoring films, a process that safeguards landmark works by leading creators – films that have left a lasting impact both on screen and on the page.
She will also speak about the Archive’s rich collections and recent programming – including tributes to directors such as Thanasis Rentzis, Stavros Tornes, Panos Koutras, and a special retrospective on Costa-Gavras, the Archive’s Honorary President.
The Greek Film Archive remains a vital institution for documenting and showcasing our cultural heritage, while also serving as a vibrant hub cherished by film lovers and cultural audiences alike.
