Tribute to Panos Gavalas, a distinctive voice of Greek laiko music | 30 Nov. 2025, 12:00

On Sunday, 30 November 2025, from 12:00 to 14:00 (Athens time), the Voice of Greece program “Our Town” presents a tribute to Panos Gavalas — a major interpreter of Greek laiko song whose artistic path remains truly unique.

The show highlights significant moments from his life and creative journey – the story of a singer whose many great hits were embraced, sung, and cherished by generations of Greeks – honoring this modest artist who kept his distance from publicity and served his craft with rare integrity. Listeners will hear many beloved songs he wrote himself, as well as works created for him by other composers. The tribute is dedicated especially to Greeks abroad who have lived far from their homeland for many years. For the older among them, it will be a moving, joyful experience — and perhaps an invitation to sing along.

Produced and presented by Themis Rodamitis
