Tribute to the Poet Christos Bravos | 29 Nov. 2025, 12:00

On Saturday, 29 November 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00, the program “Our Town” on Voice of Greece presents a tribute to Christos Bravos. A major poet and one of the principal representatives of the 1970s generation—who left us far too soon—Bravos left a powerful imprint of poetic language and thought. The program invites us to consider how his poetry is read today.

There will be references to his influences from Greek folk song and the living tradition carried through the collective consciousness of the Greek people. Special attention will be given to his spiritual and poetic affinity with Miltos Sachtouris.

Taking part in the tribute are poets Giorgos Markopoulos and Panos Kyparissis, director Thodoris Gonis, and composer Paris Paraschopoulos—all close friends of Christos Bravos and deep connoisseurs of his work. His poems will be performed by actress Olina Xenopoulou, and we will also hear musical settings of his poetry by Paris Paraschopoulos, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, and Babis Papadopoulos.

Produced and presented by Themis Rodamitis
Broadcast: Saturday, 29 November 2025, 12:00–13:00 (Athens time)
Repeat: Sunday, 30 November 2025, 01:00–02:00 (Athens time)
