Vasilis Korakakis on “Folk Paths” | 21 June 2025, 14:00

On Saturday, 21 June 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00 Athens time, Elena Falirea welcomes musician and composer Vasilis Korakakis to the studio of Voice of Greece and the show “Folk Paths”, on the occasion of the release of his second solo album, titled “Alaniarika Sfyrizo” (published by Metronomos Editions).

In this new work, Vasilis Korakakis has chosen to gather and record ten laika songs written by his father, the renowned composer Vangelis Korakakis. As he notes:

“For years now, I’ve wanted to collect a selection of my father’s songs—to play them, sing them, and finally record them. When you’re that close to the source, where so many songs are born, it can feel like something ever-present, like you could just snap your fingers and sing one whenever you like. But there are so many songs—and they’re all so beautiful—that if you don’t decide to act, you risk forgetting some, or overlooking others, because more and more keep being created. That’s why I believe the time has come to record these songs properly, so the next ones can have their turn.”

In the second hour of the show, we’ll listen to music from the guest’s own discography, collaborations, and songs that have influenced him along the way.

Produced and presented by Elena Falirea
