On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 18:00 Athens time, the radio show “Voices and Music” with Alexis Kostas will host soprano Vivianna Giannaki live in the studio of Voice of Greece.
The occasion for this appearance is the upcoming concert that she will present in Athens on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the “Parnassos” Literary Society Concert Hall, joining forces with guitarist Mariano Gil and pianist Leonardo Daniel Marconi. The artists aim to share with the Athenian audience their deep admiration and love for two iconic figures of global artistic stature: Maria Callas and the Argentine Tango.
The concert will feature Argentine Tango music, honoring Maria Callas—a genre she is known to have “especially enjoyed listening to and dancing to…”. The event is held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Greece, in collaboration with the cultural centre “The House of Cyprus.”
Vivianna Giannaki, of Greek-Cypriot origin, and Argentine-Italian Mariano Gil, perform songs from their countries of origin during their concerts: pieces in the Cypriot dialect, Spanish, Greek, French, English, as well as Sephardic songs. They have participated in major international festivals in the United States, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Greece, and Cyprus.
