What does it mean to be young, Greek, and raised thousands of kilometers from the Aegean?
What does Greekness sound like when spoken in an encouraging family environment in Washington … or a Cape Town rhythm… an Imvros breeze… or a Romanian heartbeat?
This Sunday on “Infinitely Curious”, the English-language program of Voice of Greece, host Katerina Batzaki brings the spotlight to four extraordinary young people who grew up far from Greece—yet carry the homeland with disarming tenderness and unshakable pride:

- Margarita Michalas, Washington DC
- Konstantina Bakali, Imvros
- Michail Martin Engelbrecht, Cape Town, South Africa
- Flavius Spiros Caravia, Romania
Katerina met them at the Greek Youth Diaspora Symposium, held at the “Hellenic Cosmos” Cultural Centre in Athens.
They discuss:
• What they love most about Greece
• The meaning of “Greekness” when you grow up abroad
• Why they feel pulled back to the homeland
• Their dreams, hopes, and commitment to keeping Greek culture alive—wherever life takes them.
Because the future of Hellenism is not only in Athens or Thessaloniki. It beats in Washington, Cape Town, Bucharest, Imvros—and everywhere Greek voices grow up far from Greece but never far from its spirit.
A celebration of youth, identity, roots, and the global constellation we call the Greek diaspora.
