Maroulita de Kol and Evgenia Gaidi Pantazoglou spoke on the broadcasting program “Voices and Music”, curated and presented by Alexis Kostas.
After the completion and release of their first album “The Golden Sheep” in Berlin, the Arcangel Trio is aiming for concerts in Greece.
The album captures songs and music from the Greek tradition, and through a dynamic process of improvisation with clarinet, violin, bagpipe, flute, piano, and three female voices, as well as the use of sound effects, becomes composition, creates sound environments and brings light to songs and dances from mystical stories and ritual practices with a fresh and powerful sound.
The second part of the concert continues with traditional music in the above atmosphere, while the addition of percussion makes the rhythm that inspires dancing.
BRIEF BAND BIOGRAPHY
The Arcangel Trio was formed in early 2019 and has performed in various music venues in Berlin (Werkstatt der Kulturen, Prachtwerk and others) and in Greece (Athens – Athenaeum, Chaosmos, Xanthi – FEX, Serres – Kafe Aman, Donousa – Kedros and others). They participated with a concert at Sofar Athens in December 2019, while in April 2022 they completed the recordings of their first album at Studio Odeon in Athens and U.F.O. in Berlin.
