Today, we will be celebrating a fantastic voice that has marked the evolution of Greek song and has her birthday on October 18, i.e. today. Our track list today includes foreign songs performed live by Alkistis Protopsalti that are found in three albums: First, the 1992 Live Recording from Zoom Club. Second, the 2003 Fairytales of a Voice album with the participation of the Symphony Orchestra of Prague. And third, the 2016 Secret Landscape album, a live recording of a concert from the Athens Megaron with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens. What we see rising out of all these songs – Italian, Spanish, or even Yugoslavian from her collaboration with Bregovic – is Alkistis’ cosmopolitan nature, her unique capacity to transcend geographical and cultural borders.
