The “Historical Walks” tribute to Argentine tango concluded with a program filled with authentic melodies. On Saturday, December 28, iconic pieces from the most significant orchestras of the “golden age”—spanning 1935 to 1955 and coinciding with the Peronist era—were featured.
This connection is no coincidence, as Juan Perón invested in tango as a cultural product that highlighted Argentina’s identity. During this period, the country was home to more than 500 professional orchestras, fostering the flourishing and dissemination of tango.
DJ Vasilis Notis focused on the most influential orchestras of the era while also taking listeners to the present, showcasing modern orchestras that continue the tradition. With his extensive experience and frequent participation in milongas in Buenos Aires, Vasilis Notis delivered a unique auditory experience.
