A tribute to the liberation of Athens from the Germans on October 12, 1944, after 3 years and 6 months of harsh occupation, with thousands of deaths from hunger, hardship, and executions, was presented on October 12 by Giannis Papoutsakis’ broadcasting program “Journeys basking in Greek light”.
With texts by people who lived the great day, Giorgos Seferis, Ioanna Tsatsou, Giorgos Theotokas, the journalist Kostas Paraschos, Eleni Vlachou and songs about Athens by the voices of Nana Mouskouri, Rena Vlachopoulou, Marinella, Giannis Vogiatzis, Jenny Vanou, Jimmy Makulis and other performers.
