Visual artist Giorgos Vouros speaks on the show, on the occasion of the solo painting exhibition entitled “Break the Silence, Save the Boats-Transubstantiation”, which takes place on April 8th at the Municipal Art Gallery of Piraeus. He take us to the world of traditional boats and describes how they are trying to rescue them in various ways, while there is still time.
He says that “boats also have soul, stories and emotions. This is what I record with my colors on the canvas of the destroyed wooden boats on the Greek islands, wanting to send my own way and help in my own way in rescuing them.”
The show ”Fair Winds and Following Seas” with Antonis Karagiannakis is dedicated to Greek seafarers, featuring stories of their day-to-day lives, live testimonies, and connections with Greek ocean liners sailing across the world’s oceans.
