“Faraway Words” with Erini | 13 July 2026

Singer, songwriter, and producer Erini, who is based in New York, was the guest on “Faraway Words.”

Drawing on both her Cretan heritage and her family’s roots in Asia Minor, Erini has introduced audiences around the world to the richness of Greek traditional music—from Carnegie Hall and the classrooms of Berklee College of Music to concert stages in China.

During the conversation, she reflected on her Asia Minor heritage, her early musical experiences growing up in Crete, and her studies in London. She also spoke about her remarkable three-year tenure as the sole featured vocalist with Cirque du Soleil, performing in more than 1,000 shows, as well as her studies at Berklee College of Music, where she now teaches.

The interview concluded with a discussion of her album Fos, featuring songs inspired by the musical traditions of Asia Minor.
