The program featured Vasilis Papastergiadis, President of the Greek Community of Melbourne, shortly before his departure from Greece. He spoke about the meetings he held during his visit, including his meeting with the President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas. He also discussed an initiative to bring young people of Greek heritage from across Australia to Greece, as well as his plans for the Greek Community of Melbourne, with priority given to the construction of a 350-seat community theatre and three multipurpose event spaces.
The program also welcomed Kostas Tatsis, head of the Greek diaspora platform Doryforos Munich, who spoke about the 12th Solidarity Campaign of the Greek Associations of Bavaria, which will run from September through December. As he explained, the campaign will raise funds for three children’s organizations, with each receiving an equal share (33%) of the total proceeds. The beneficiaries are Iliachtida (Parents, Friends and Guardians of People with Autism Association of the Serres Regional Unit), To Spiti in Temeni, Aigio (Achaia), The Smile of the Child, and Kinderhaus AtemReich in Munich.
