Speaking from the Netherlands, where she now lives, Greek flamenco singer Yota Baron joined “Faraway Words” to discuss her musical journey and her passion for flamenco.
The conversation was prompted by the 9th Hola Flamenco Festival, which she organizes and which returns to Greece for a third consecutive year in late July, with events in Ypati (Phthiotis), Hydra, and Athens. She also spoke about the return of the Vamos! Flamenco Camp in Crete.
During the interview, Yota Baron reflected on her love of flamenco, the cultural ties between Greece and Spain and their respective musical traditions, the origins and evolution of the festival, and her decision to move to Amsterdam.
