At the Voice of Greece studio, Thanasis Christodoulou (Lumiere) and Christina Samara offered listeners an hour-long musical immersion, balancing between minimalist piano compositions and crystalline vocals.
The Athens-based composer, known for his post-classical and ambient sound that reached the pages of Newsweek, met with the Thessaloniki-born singer and mathematician to create the album “Time Away from You.”
Through a rare unplugged performance, the two artists unfolded their transition from instrumental soundscapes to Greek-language songwriting, proving that melancholy can become the brightest refuge.
From the days of Serpentine to Christina’s personal album “Almost 30,” the conversation delved into the finer points of composition, the collaboration with Kalliope Mitropoulou, and the role of Bandcamp in today’s independent music scene.
A program that showed how time, when invested in genuine art, ceases to be distance and instead becomes a shared, universal melody for Greeks around the world.
