On Wednesday, 04 March 2026, marking World Obesity Day, the program “The Practice of Living” on Voice of Greece features journalist Nasia Bouloukou in conversation with two experts on the issue of obesity.
The first part of the program focuses on the medical dimensions of obesity, with the contribution of Erifyli Chatziangelaki, Professor of Internal Medicine – Metabolic Diseases at the Medical School of the University of Athens. She addresses questions such as: When is obesity considered a disease? What are its effects on the heart, metabolism, and quality of life? And what modern therapeutic options are available for its treatment?
In the second part, clinical dietitian Nikos Kafetzopoulos discusses nutrition, daily habits, and realistic weight-management strategies, explaining what sustainable change truly means, how to avoid extreme dieting, and how to build a healthy relationship with food.
